Concealed Carry Information

Any person residing in Miami County or an adjacent county needing to renew or obtain a C.C.W. permit needs to schedule an appointment by calling the C.C.W. office at 937-440-6095 or email between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. ***CCW appointments take place at the Miami County Incarceration Facility, 2042 N. CR 25a, Troy, OH 45373.***

NOTICE: LICENSE EXPIRATION EXTENDED

If a concealed handgun license has been issued to a person under section 2923.125 of the Revised Code and if the date on which that license was, or is, scheduled to expire falls during the period of emergency declared by Executive Order 2020-01D, issued on March 9, 2020, but not beyond December 1, 2020, if the period of the emergency continues beyond that date, notwithstanding that date of scheduled expiration or any other provision of law to the contrary, the date on which that license was, or is, scheduled to expire is hereby extended to the sooner of either ninety days or December 1, 2020, with the ninety-day extension period commencing on that date of scheduled expiration.

CCW Office

To obtain C.C.W. permit the following items will be needed at the time of appointment.

  • Completed Ohio C.C.W. permit application
  • Color photo at least 2 x 2
  • Copy of training certificate (the original is good for 3 years for initial C.C.W permit)
  • Certified check or money order for the correct amount, payable to the Miami County Sheriff's Office
  • Valid Ohio driver's license

To obtain a C.C.W. renewal the following items will be needed at the time of the appointment.

  • Completed Ohio C.C.W. renewal application
  • Valid Ohio driver's license
  • Certified check or money order for the correct amount, payable to the Miami County Sheriff's Office
  • Color photo at least 2 x 2 is only requested if your original Ohio C.C.W. permit was issued from another county
  • Copy of training certificate is only requested if your original Ohio C.C.W. permit was issued from another county.
  • Renewal Appointments can be made 90 days prior to expiration date or anytime after

NOTE:

Fingerprints will be taken at the time of appointment and all paperwork processed as timely as possible depending on the volume of applications and renewals submitted. Applicants should provide a valid phone number to be contacted at during business hours. We will call when permit is ready and Applicant will need to come sign for permit at the Miami County Incarceration Facility, 2042 N. CR 25a. The Office is open Monday - Friday from 8am to 4 pm. (except for Legal Holidays) The entire process may take up to 45 business days from time of appointment.

Once you are on the Concealed Carry page the forms and available information are located on the right side of the page.

Initial License

  • Initial - $67
  • Initial - $77 (Ohio resident less than 5-years)

Renewals

  • Renewal - $50
  • Renewal - $60 (Ohio resident for less than 5-years)

Temporary License

  • Temporary Emergency Permit - $37
  • Temporary Emergency Permit - $47 (Ohio resident less than 5-years)

Replacement

  • Replacement Fee for lost or stolen permits - $15
