The Miami County Sanitary Engineering Department consists of three divisions. These divisions are water, wastewater and solid waste.
The water division consists of 37 miles of water line, a pressure station and two water towers in Miami County. We provide operation and maintenance of the water distribution systems that serve the residents and businesses in Concord, Monroe and Bethel Townships.
The wastewater division consists of 55 miles of sewer line and 15 pump stations. We provide and maintain the sewer collection systems that serve the residents and businesses in Bethel, Brown ,Concord, Lostcreek, Monroe and Springcreek Townships.
The solid waste division handles the municipal solid waste for Miami County. Trash haulers and homeowners bring in trash from throughout the county. The trash is loaded into semi-trailers where it is then taken to a landfill.
There is also a Recycling Center for residents that do not have recycling pick-up services available to them in their jurisdiction.
The Miami County Solid Waste District is one of 52 solid waste districts in Ohio. It is incorporated into the Sanitary Engineering Department.
