Miami County Department of Development-Building & Electrical Inspector I-Full Time

Gains access to work site, inspects wiring installation and repair, drives to work site, etc.  Performs assigned on-site inspections of building construction in progress (e.g., inspects foundations, crawl spaces, structures, insulation, and ventilation, etc.) Reviews assigned building plans for compliance to appropriate codes and standards; communicates with contractors, homeowners, architects, etc., regarding code standards and compliance, collects evidence to assist in prosecution of code violators; serves as liaison between department and fire prevention personnel. Miami County Veteran's Services-Van Driver-Part Time

Directly supervises a facilities staff of 4 maintenance and janitorial personnel. Miami County Sheriff's Office-Corrections Officer-Full Time
Corrections officers are responsible for overseeing individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial or who have been sentenced to serve time in jail. In Miami County the Sheriff’s Office operates two jail facilities and staff both with corrections officers. The first is a 43 bed facility located in downtown Troy and is considered maximum security, holding our highest risk inmates. The second jail is located in CR 25a north of Troy and is a 240 bed facility holding less serious male offenders and females. Corrections Officers rotate between both locations. Duties include: Periodic patrols and checks; monitoring inmate living quarters; screening visitors; inmate counts and other duties as required.
