Computerized indexes by names of both parties are kept for all instruments recorded.
The Recorder also keeps a record of all death and burial sites of Miami County War Veterans.

The Recorder with the Prosecutor, the Probate Court Judge, the Auditor and the Commissioners are members of the Records Commission which determines and disposes of out-dated County Records.

By law, the Recorder is Secretary of the Microfilm Board which includes the Treasurer, Auditor, Clerk of Courts, and President of the County Commissioners. This Board is responsible for microfilming records for these offices: the Recorder, the Commissioners, the Clerk of Courts, the Engineer, the Treasurer, the Auditor and the Probate Court.
